VIP Crowd Employee Spotlight: Evan Short
How did you end up working in your field and at VIP Crowd?
I have been working with software, either as a hobby or as a job, since I was in high school. At Purdue I met our VP of Technology Pete Granger, and we have worked together and kept in touch ever since.
What is your favorite part about working at VIP Crowd?
I love the task-oriented nature of our development processes and high accessibility of our team. Being able to glance at a list of priorities, have a chat about it and know what needs to be done helps keep things moving forward.
Tell us about your role at VIP Crowd.
I help make the browser interfaces for our applications, as well as work with the security and performance aspects of our servers.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
That is a tough one. Probably a toss-up between cooking unnecessarily complicated things and camping. The more every-day answer would be hanging out with my dogs and reading
What is one of the coolest things you’ve ever done/experienced?
It’s cliche, but skydiving was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. The terror of stepping out of a plane, the perspective and feeling like you are flying because the horizon is so far away, and the realization of how fast you are actually falling once the earth comes close enough to see are all so extreme that it’s really hard to top.
